6 TIPS to consider when buying a HP Laptop

1.Portability
– Determine how portably you need your PC to be. If portability is your main concern, then you need to consider a notebook that has a screen size of about 2.5" and a weight of about 1.5kg.

2. Screen & Keyboard quality - Make sure you get a screen & keyboard  that is comfortable to work with, especially if you are going to be spending hours on end working on your PC.

About a 1920x1080-pixel screen resolution is good to consider when looking at screen comfort, and don’t forget to importance of viewing angles. A laptop screen that offers IPS technology provides the widest viewing angles and the best viewing comfort.

Having a comfortable keyboard is highly important as you don’t want to put unnecessary stain on your wrists and hands. Look at a keyboard that has a comfortable layout with full-sized keys and some space around the arrow keys.

3. CPU – When looking at CPU look at the Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7. These CPUs provide the best performance when it comes to multitasking on various programs. Notebooks offering the Core i3 are generally found in entry-level systems, Core i5 Notebooks make up the majority of mainstream computers and, Core i7 Notebooks offer the best possible performance from a laptop. So think about what you are wanting from you PC in terms of speed and performance.

4. RAM & Storage – To get the best out of your PC system look at at-least 4GB of RAM or more. The more RAM you have the more applications you can run at the same time, and quicker data can be accessed by the system at any one time.

In terms of storage look at having a 128GB SSD (solid state drive). This offers lot more speed than a hard drive, runs silently, and can be installed in a form factor that doesn’t add too much weight of the laptop.

5. Battery life – When looking at the battery life of a Laptop look at the rating of the battery in Watt-hours (Wh) or milliamp-hours (mAh). The higher the amount, the longer the battery will last. Just keep in mind that there are a lot of

variables that can affect battery life such as screen brightness and the tasks that you are running.

6. Needs vs. budget – Working around a budget is not always easy but is highly necessary. Balance what you want with what fits into your budget; keeping in mind that a laptop rarely ticks all the boxes so some compromise might be needed. Establish what features you can’t live without and work around the rest to find your ultimate Laptop
